The final meeting of Tudor Chapter No 1792 took place on 19th March 2015 when the Chapter, who had suffered from low numbers of members for some time, sadly handed in their Charter to E.Comp John F R Handley, the Deputy Grand Superintendent, for return to the First Grand Principal. This decision had been reached after much soul searching by the Companions but the loss of the link to the Lodges which generated candidates resulted in the decision to close.

The ritual of surrendering the Chapter was done in a very dignified manner with a splendid address outlining the History of the Chapter delivered by E.Comp Len Bowden and an Oration given by the Deputy Grand Superintendent celebrating the contribution made to the Province by the members of the Chapter over many years.

The Festive Board was another opportunity to remember with fondness some of the well known members and the milestones in the Chapter’s life. Fortunately, many of the current members have already chosen other Chapters to join and continue their Royal Arch membership.

A sad occasion but one that was a celebration of the Chapter’s history as well as thanks for all the Companionship which had been shared over the years.
