Elkington Chapter Celebrate 150 Years with a Candidate

The members of Elkington Chapter certainly know how to celebrate the 150th Anniversary year of the Chapter, by exalting a Candidate.  It is now 152 years since the consecration, following two years where meetings were not possible, and Bro John Snape has been waiting for three years before he could become a member.  John is a member of the Lodge of Happiness 7952, and a key member of the Warwickshire Masonic Rugby Club and despite numerous injuries, is still playing.

As well as the Exaltation, which was expertly handled by E Comp Simon Evans, MEZ, E Comp David Heard was inducted as 2nd Principal, and in the absence of E Comp Dennis Freshwater, E Comp Nigel tongue deputised as both 2nd & 3rd Principal during the evening.

A splendid Festive Board followed – no less than five courses – during which E Comp Stephen Wright, the longest continuous serving member, gave us a brief history of the Chapter and the achievements of several members over its existence.

A great night – long may the Chapter continue to flourish.

L to R – E Comp David Heard, Comp John Snape, E Comp Simon Evans, E Comp Nigel Tongue, E Comp John Hayward, APGP.
