Royal Arch Church Service Calling Notice
posted on 06 January 2017
The Annual Service for Companions and their families will be held at the Parish Church of St. Peter, Coughton, near Alcester, at 3.00 p.m. on Sunday 26th February 2017. This year the Province is again honoured to have leading the service The Rev. Canon Michael Wilson, who as well as being Grand Chaplain of the UGLE is the Past Third Provincial Grand Principal for the Province of Leicestershire and Rutland. The date of the Church Service is Quinquagesima (The final Sunday before the start of Lent) and his theme will be “transfiguration and transformation”. This will be the second occasion where he will lead our service and no doubt we will have another thought provoking and enjoyable address.
The ME Grand Superintendent, E. Comp Philip L Hall is very keen to ensure that we as a Province recognise the honour of having the Grand Chaplain with us and wishes to ensure a good attendance by Warwickshire Companions. Accordingly, he specifically requests the support of the Principals of all Chapters in ensuring that they and the Companions of their Chapter attend this special Service. All denominations will be warmly welcomed at this very special occasion.
The Provincial Choir led by E Comp Michael Irving will once again provide the usual high standard of choral music. After the Service you are invited, if you wish, to Kings Court Hotel for afternoon tea – sandwiches, cakes etc., at a cost of £8.50 per head – which is a good way to finish off a splendid afternoon.
Please send your application as soon as possible by returning the slip below, together with your remittance. The dress code is informal and no regalia is worn. The ME Grand Superintendent looks forward to welcoming you and your families to St. Peter’s.
