ME Grand Superintendent, E Comp John L Saint and E Comp Brian F Owen

At the Concord Royal Arch Chapter No 3239 Convocation held on Wednesday 17 December 2014 the ME Grand Superintendent, E Comp John L Saint was pleased to present to E Comp Brian F. Owen his Certificate of Merit in recognition of the tremendous support he has given to his Chapter and to the Royal Arch Province of Warwickshire. The presentation was followed by the Chapter Scribe Ezra, E. Comp David Hall reading the citation on the Certificate.

This was a well kept secret as when the Grand Superintendent had finished giving greetings from the Province he went on to announce that he was delighted to be able to present a Certificate of Merit to one of our members for the tremendous support he has given to the Chapter and to Royal Arch.

E. Comp. Brian, aged 81yrs, had occupied the chair of J at very short notice and was ideally situated in the Chapter room for everyone present to see the look of surprise on his face when the M.E. Grand Superintendant announced who the recipient was.

When E. Comp. Brian Owen replied, he was a bit emotional and for once he was almost stuck for words but said that he had enjoyed being a member of the Chapter and Scribe E for many years and wished to thank the Companions for their company and support over the time he had been a member.

E. Comp Brian was exalted in Concord Chapter No 3239 on 13 December 1975. He was Installed as First Principal of the Chapter for the first time in 1987 and again in 1999. His first Provincial appointment was to acting Provincial Grand Steward in 1992 and he was immediately appointed as Provincial Grand Registrar in 1993 being subsequently promoted to Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah the following year. He was a founder member of Provincial Grand Stewards’ Chapter of Warwickshire No 9253 becoming MEZ in 2008.
