A proud night for Leigh.

‘Remember, remember the 5th of November’ is often heard around this time of year. For over 40 companions it will forever be the 3rd of November following a very special meeting of Leigh Chapter. It has long been the tradition of members of the Lodge of Integrity to join Leigh Chapter when taking that important step of joining the Holy Royal Arch. We were blest with more two candidates from Integrity, Bro’s Andy Durham & Sevvy Hasan, and felt that the best way of exalting them was in a double ceremony.
The Chapter was blessed with a great number of visitors – 22 in total – with the Deputy Grand Superintendent present to offer support from the Province both to the Chapter but more importantly to welcome the two newest Warwickshire Companions into the Order. Leigh Chapter was pleased to be a bit of a trailblazer – we have appointed a Chapter Mentor as well as sharing much more of the ritual than normal, both which seem to have been a great success thus far.
It was great to see the dining room at Severn Street so full as the proceedings moved from temple to the festive board. Everyone enjoyed a lively atmosphere resulting from such numbers and an excellent meal. A particular highlight came following toast number 4 – one of our senior members, E.Comp. John Norman, will be receiving his promotion to P.A.G.Soj.at the forthcoming convocation of Supreme Grand Chapter. In recognition of all that he has done for the Chapter, he was presented with a silver P.A.G.Soj. collar jewel that had been suitably engraved. E.Comp. John was obviously surprised and delighted with it and will be looking forward to being able to wear in very soon.
Earlier in the evening, we had held a ballot for another candidate for exaltation and that ceremony will take place on the first Friday in January. If you would like to come, you can be assured of a very warm welcome. Our hardworking Scribe Ezra’s details can be found in the newly published yearbook.
